How can you potty train a pomeranian who keeps piddling in the house?

She is about 6 months old now, and i've heard that Pomeranian's are one of the hardest breeds to potty train.

Do you have any ideas on how to potty train a puppy other than taking her out every couple hours, because that technique is not working for us.

You heard wrong about pomeranians. And there is no better way than taking it out every hour til it gets the concept. then get it on a regular routine of eating and peeing/pooping.

Get the book, How to Housebreak Your Dog in Seven Days, written by Shirlee Kalstone. You can buy it got about $8.99 plus mailing costs at Dogwise books, http://www.dogwise.com

Having all the of instructions and the hows and whys right there in print makes it easier for you to learn and remember everything you have to do. And if you forget, you can just look it up again. I strongly recommend this book!

the way i potty trained my dog was when ever we let him out and he DID go to the bathroom we gave him a treat and we did that everytime and he got into the routine where he went and he ran back in the house for a treat, but we stopped giving him treats after he knew what he had to to so he wouldn't get fat haha, now he scratches at the door for us to let him out.
I guess you mostly have to be patient.

plan the time you give her water. Pick it up about an hour or so before bedtime. The same for food. pick it up as soon as she stops eating and walks away. Do not make the mistake of keeping bowls of food and water out 24/7. You can put water down often but not the food.

You need to crate her when you can't give her your full attention. Dogs are very reluctant to soil their dens/beds, and she'll learn to hold it until she's taken out.

Crate her when you can't watch her.
Leash her to you when you can. Look for sniffing, circling, squatting, if she does say "NO!" loud and sharp then take her outside.
Always have treats in your pocket and if she goes outside, praise and treat.
Hang bells on the door to the outside and show her that ringing the bell gets you outside. Encourage her to ring the bell by holding a treat behind it.

the golden rule is that directly after food and water take her out and as soon as she wakes up take her out, always tell her when you take her out to do pees and wait until she does, dont be impatient she will start to understand the command,,,, also every couple of hours is loo long,, make it half an hour to an hour, remember dont walk away until she has finnished , and then tell her what a good girl she is ,,, good luck
