How can i clear my Pomeranian eyes the have tear stains underneath eyes?

i am buying a pomeranian puppy light beige and it has brown stains underneath her eyes can this be cleared? and how do i know if my pomeranian is a pure bread or not?

The way to know if it is purebred is to get papers with the dog!! As for the tear stains… you can buy all kinds of solutions that are made for this problem that are safe if you get them into the puppies eyes but I have found that baby shampoo and a washcloth every few days does the trick just as well. Start cleaning their eyes when they are young if possible so they will be used to it! Good Luck!!

It's from the dye in their food that causes that. You can get stuff at the pet store to clean the area and keep the fur clear. There are a couple of different brands, but I think we use "clear eyes".

And ask your vet about doing DNA testing on your dog. A mouth swab is about $65 and a blood test is $100-$200 and there are some websites. Google them. I think one is whatiismydog.com or something like that.

Stop giving it tap water. Use distilled. Also there are some remedies at the pet shop.

starting when you get it put a WARM cloth underneath his/her eyes every day, thats what i do with mine, and it got rid of the stains AND dirt and makes them look more clean and happy. im not sure to tell if its a pure breed or not though.

If the dog is purebred it should have pedigree papers.
My Yorkies get this with their eyes aswell. Use warm (not hot) water and a cloth and gently wipe the fur arund the eyes clean. Do it every day to stop it from building up.
Dont use shampoo or soap because you will risk it getting into the dogs eyes and causing damage, just clean warm water.

Rub under her eye's with a WARM wet paper towel or cotton ball, i have to do this with my shih tzu's all the time.
You can't know if your dog is a purebred unless you've seen both parents and it should have pedigree papers.

the stains are actually made by sleep which in animals is brownish black and stains orange sometimes. there are products you can buy at the pet store or online to remove it for a short time. you should look at both parents to see if it's pure bread. see if they have papers.

HI there
Excellent Choice on your Pup I have 7 of them they are addictive
As for the stains under there eyes well that is something you will have to deal with all there lives I have 3 Creame males and My baby who is going to be 2 years old December 23rd has not had the tearing but now the past month he started but my husbands tiny Little Creame has always had it so what we do is Buy Eye wipes @ Petsmart or @ the Vet and you can wipe them and it will clean them up but it will not stop it
It is my understanding that the reason it happens is that there nasal passages are compacted due to there tiny size causing the tearing ask your Vet to be sure
Now how to tell if it is Full blooded ask your Breeder that you are buying from first of all
But here is a funny little way that I tell friends to tell if you have a full blooded Pom when they get excited they will run in circles like 3 little circles and I always say there is a true Pom but that is just a silly little theory of mine
Enjoy Your little Baby I know you will Love her for many years to come

If it's a red stain, go to your vet and get a product called tylan, it worked wonders on my puppy. As far as finding out if it's pure, they can do bloodwork to find that out.

I doubted my breeder, I had a swab done, my proved to be purebred…..I had tons of sorrys to make, LOL!! But anyhow, my pom runs in three circles, ( ROTFL), and I wait until the tear stains dry and I pick them off gently…you can buy wipes at Pet Smart.. Get a DNA test if you`re in doubt.. Be careful you could insult your breeder..

I insulted my breeder…..My pup is SOOOO tiny, he`s going to be under 4lbs full grown. My vet and I were doubtful, we did DNA, we were proven wrong….My poor pom is teeny tiny..CKC papers or AKC papers are usually reliable…but not always they can be false.
